The river Beas is not a tributary of the River Ganga. The river Ganga originates in Gaumukh, near the Gangotri glaciers in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The river flows through the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Delhi in India and the neighbouring territory of Bangladesh. Ghagra, Kosi, Gomti, Ramganga, Mahananda, Garra, Gandak, and Burhi Gandak are the left tributaries of Ganga. Yamuna, Son, Damodar, Tamsa, Punpun, Karamnasa, Rupnarayan, Ajoy, Kiul, Chandan, and Falgu are the right tributaries of Ganga. The river Beas, arising from the Himalayan ranges in Himachal Pradesh, is a tributary of the river Sutlej.
