Detailed Solution

Corbett National Park is India's first national park.
In 1936, Jim Corbett National Park was created in Uttarakhand's Nainital region and was given the name Hailey National Park in honour of its creator, Sir Malcolm Hailey. The Indian Government called it Corbett National Park in 1956 in honour of Jim Corbett, who spearheaded efforts to preserve wildlife in India. The park spans 201 square miles in total. It is a portion of the greater Corbett Tiger Reserve, which spans about 1,288 square kilometres and has a total area of 497 square miles. It is India's first national park.
