Alauddin Khalji had captured the Chittor Fort. Alauddin Kahlji was the first Turkish Sultan to establish an empire in India. His rule signalled the start of Islam's imperial era. Being an excellent general, he quickly took over new regions. He adhered to the strategy of protecting the kingdom from Mongol invasions. His dominion grew due to his effective campaigns in places like Gujarat, Malwa, Ranthambhore, Chittor, etc. He controlled all of his territories directly, and the kings were forced to pay enormous tributes. Alauddin made changes to the tax system, especially regarding land revenue, in several ways. He also introduced a method for market regulation.
