European managing agencies such as Bird Heiglers and Co., Andrew Yule, and Jardine Skinner & Co. were prominent in the domination of Indian industrial production. These agencies invested in mining activities, indigo production, and jute farming. Most of these products are used in export trade only. Until the end of the First World War, these companies occupied and controlled a large sector of Indian industries.
