Detailed Solution

1793 period of France is known as the reign of terror.
Several mass killings and public executions took place from 1793 to 1794 after the establishment of the First Republic. It was known as the Reign of Terror. Robespierre adopted a strict control and punitive measures strategy. Ex-nobles and clergy, members of rival political parties, and even members of his party who disagreed with his methods were considered "enemies" of the republic. They were all seized, imprisoned and then convicted by a revolutionary tribunal. If the judge ruled them "guilty," they were executed by guillotine. Hence, a person was decapitated using a guillotine consisting of two poles and a blade.
