Ladakh is called 'Little Tibet'. Ladakh is a desert. It is located in the northern corner of India. In Ladakh, people do not depend on farming activities as their means of livelihood because of the climate. Here, there are no fertile lands, and this region does not receive adequate rainfall. Throughout the year, it remains mostly covered in snow. People here depend on goats and sheep. They are their major source of income as well as livelihood. Hence, their most common foods are meat and milk products. People used to travel to Tibet via Ladakh and the exchange of the two cultures used to take place.
