Malwa plateau lies between the Aravali and the Vindhya ranges. This plateau stretches over central Madhya Pradesh and southeastern Rajasthan. Malwa plateau is volcanic in nature. It is a rough triangle, with Vindhya Hills in the centre and the Aravali Range in the west. The Vindhyan vary is finite by the Satpura vary on the south and the Aravallis on the northwest. The Malwa plateau was formed due to intense volcanism 66 million years ago.
