Maru Raikas tribe managed to herd camels. The Raikas are a pastoralist community in Rajasthan that raise sheep and goats. The Maru (Desert) Raikas is a subgroup of Raikas. Camel breeding is a job for Maru raikas. Dhandi is the name of Maru's settlement. At fairs, they are involved in the purchasing and selling of camels. Maru Raikas' area of expertise is camel training. They live in their native villages close to the Thar desert in parts of Bikaner, Barmer, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur, where there is grass during the wet season.
