Detailed Solution

The first kings to establish Delhi as their capital were the Tomara Rajputs. In the middle of the twelfth century, the Chauhans of Ajmer (also known as Chahamanas) overcame the Tomaras. Delhi developed into a significant commercial hub under the rule of the Tomaras and Chauhans. Delhi was the home of a king from the Tomara Dynasty. He governed a sizable portion of Delhi and Haryana. Delhi was established by him in the 11th century. The first king of Delhi, Ananga Pala of the Tomara Dynasty, built the city as its capital. One of the earliest mediaeval dynasties in northern India was the Tomara Dynasty. The dynasty is reported to have 36 Rajputs, per the sources. The family's history dates back to the eleventh century, when Ananga Pala established his rule over Delhi, and to 1164 when Delhi was incorporated into the Chahamana or Chauhan kingdom. The Tomar dynasty is said to have dominated Delhi as their feudatories up until the time of the Delhi Sultanate, despite the fact that the Chauhans of Ajmer eventually acquired control of the city.
