Detailed Solution

Arid soils range in colour from red to brown and are often sandy in texture and saline. This alluvial soil is deficient in humus and moisture.
Arid soils are generated by the breakup of surrounding rocks and are blown primarily from the Indus Valley and coastal regions. They are mostly found in developing western Rajasthan. The presence of Iron Oxide gives Arid its red colour. It has a sandy to gravelly texture and a high concentration of soluble salts. The salt level in some regions is so strong that common salt is created by evaporating the salt water. These are deficient in moisture and humus due to the arid climate, increased evaporation, and high temperatures.
