Detailed Solution

Odisha is India's top iron ore producer.
Odisha produces more than half of India's iron ore, with 120 million tonnes mined in 2019/2020. The Iron Ore Group (IOG) in eastern India contains Precambrian iron ores from the Singhbhum-North Odisha region. This region contains more than half of India's iron ore deposits. The Jamda-Koira valley in the Singhbhum Odisha Iron Ore Craton (SOIOC) in eastern India is home to large hematite iron ore reserves. Noamundi, Joda, Khondbond, Bolani, Barsua, Gua, and Kiriburu provide most of Odisha's iron ore.
