We have to find which term of the sequence is 498.
Here we have, a=3, l=498, d=5.
Thus,
l=a+(n-1)d ⇒498=3+(n-1)5 ⇒498-3=(n-1)5 ⇒495=(n-1)5 ⇒4955=n-1 ⇒99=n-1
∴n=99+1 ∴n=100 Therefore, the 100th term is 498.
