Detailed Solution

The Treaty of Constantinople recognised Greece as an independent nation.
From the fifteenth century, Greece had been part of the Ottoman Empire. The Greeks started their war of independence in 1821. The Constantinople Conference began in February 1832 and produced the Treaty of Constantinople. On the one hand, the Ottoman Empire and, on the other Great Powers (Britain, France, and Russia) participated in it. Greece was designated as an independent monarchy in this agreement. As the candidate for the throne of Greece, Leopold resigned. The agreement also gave Greece permission to rule over a few territories. Greece was the first to achieve recognition as an independent nation of all the Ottoman Empire's conquered territories.
