Blood is a type of connective tissue, and its function is to transport oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and remove wastes from the body. Blood consists of plasma (liquid part), red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Plasma carries dissolved substances, red blood cells carry oxygen, white blood cells fight infections, and platelets help in clotting blood when we get cuts.
