Champaran Satyagraha: It was against the indigo plantation system which exploited peasants in Champaran, Bihar. Gandhiji inspired peasants to lead a struggle against the oppressive system.

Kheda Satyagraha: It was in opposition to high revenue in the Kheda district of Gujarat. Peasants could not pay high revenue due to crop failure and famine.
