1931 is associated with the Second Round Table Conference.
The British government, led by the Labour Party, held a series of three conferences called the Round Table Conferences between 1930 and 1932 to discuss and implement constitutional reforms in British India. Although the meeting agreed upon numerous reform concepts, very little was put into practice, and the Congress Party continued its Civil Disobedience. However, on December 1931, the Second Round Table Conference was held in London. Gandhiji attended the Conference due to the Irwin Pact. But he had to return disappointed as the negotiations broke down. Nevertheless, the British government recognised the necessity and significance of the Congress Party's decisions on the country's political future.
