Detailed Solution

The National Assembly abolished the feudal system of obligations and taxes in 1789. The revolutionary Assembly created by Third Estate representatives was known as the National Assembly from June 17 to July 9, 1789. After that, it was known officially as the National Constituent Assembly until it was replaced by the Legislative Assembly in 1791, though the shorter form persisted in popular usage. Louis XVI finally recognised the National Assembly and agreed that his powers would henceforth be restrained by a constitution when confronted with the influence of his revolting subjects. The Assembly enacted a law on August 4, 1789, ending the feudal duties and taxes system.
