Detailed Solution

Jawaharlal Nehru headed the Oudh Kisan Sabha.
Nehru brought together the farmers of Oudh and organised the first anti-landlord protest. Baba Ramchandra, a sanyasi who had previously served as an indentured labourer in Fiji, led the peasants in Awadh. The campaign was directed against the talukdars and landowners in this region, who demanded outrageously high rents and a variety of additional ceases from the local peasants. As a result, peasants were compelled to perform unpaid labour or begar on their landowners' estates. Lower taxation, the elimination of begar, and a social boycott of oppressive regimes were among the demands of the peasant movement. Thus Jawaharlal Nehru and Baba Ram Chandra created the Oudh Kisan Sabha in 1920.
