Detailed Solution

Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay was the author of the famous novel 'Anandamath.'
India's freedom struggle was not confined to the mass movement led by politicians. It was also associated with the spread of nationalism among people to make them recognize themselves as a part of the nation. The spread of nationalism involved the contribution of artists, writers, poets, painters, etc. Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, a Bengali nationalist, visualised the image of Bharat Mata for the growth of nationalism. He wrote Vande Matram, which later became the national song of India. He also wrote a novel, Anandamath, that is regarded as an important book for Bengali literature and inspiration for nationalists.
