Detailed Solution

Aurangzeb was the last most powerful ruler of his empire. During his tenure, he extended the Mughal empire to the vast extent possible, which became the reason for the decline of the Mughal empire. During his first 25 years, he lived in the north, primarily in Delhi, and was personally involved in the affairs of northern India, abandoning the Deccan region in the hands of his rulers. The rebellion of one of his sons, Prince Akbar, prompted him to travel to the Deccan in 1681, but he never decided to return to Delhi, dying upset at Ahmad Nagar in 1707.
