Detailed Solution

The founder and governor of Bengal were Murshid Quli Khan. In the early eighteenth century, Murshid Quli Khan served as the provincial diwan of Bengal at the start of his career and the Nazim or governor of Bengal and Orissa at the end of it. He also served as the diwan of Bihar and the faujdar of several districts, holding all of those positions concurrently. During the reign of Murshid Quli Khan, Bengal's domestic and foreign trade developed significantly. For example, Bengal was a tremendously active trading hub for Arab, Persian, and Armenian traders.
