Detailed Solution

The President of India appoints the Prime Minister of India. He is the real executive, whereas the President is only the nominal executive of the country. However, the President does not appoint anyone at his own discretion but simply the leader of the majority party who has won the elections. It is because the party getting the maximum votes in the elections is declared the majority party and has the right to form the government. After the President appoints the Prime Minister, the PM appoints or forms his Council of Ministers. The CoM is the executive body of the country, and it is headed by the Prime Minister. Along with its other functions, it also aids and advises the President.
