Detailed Solution

The President of India appoints two Anglo-Indians as members of Lok Sabha.
Two seats in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, were set aside for Anglo-Indians between 1952 and 2020. On the recommendation of the Indian government, the President of India proposed these two candidates. The 126th Constitutional Amendment Bill of 2019 was passed into law as the 104th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2019, ending the Anglo-Indian reserved seats in the Indian Parliament and State Legislatures in January 2020. The Anglo-Indian group was granted a reserve under Article 331 of the Indian Constitution at its adoption. However, this reservation would expire ten years after the Constitution's start.
