Detailed Solution

SCs are known as 'Dalits'. The term 'Dalit' refers in Indian society to the poorest socially and economically backwards section. In Sanskrit and Hindi, it also means "broken/scattered." In 2011, scheduled castes made up 16.6% of the population, while organized castes made up 8.6%. Before 1935, the term "Dalits" translated into the British Raj census of depressed classes. Scheduled Castes, also known as Dalits, were considered "exiled" by the Hindu social order and were subject to discrimination and non-discrimination. Organized Tribes, also known as Adivasis, are isolated ethnic groups, especially in the hills and forests, and keep little contact with the rest of society.
