Detailed Solution

Thomas Macaulay and James Mill attacked the orientalists.
As per them, the Orientalist vision of learning was full of grave errors. For them, eastern literature was meaningless. James Mill argued that eastern education should be swapped for western education as it was useful, scientific, technical, and practical instead of the poetry and sacred texts of the Orients. Later in the 1830s, the criticism of Orients became stronger with critics like Thomas Macaulay. He emphasized teaching Indians English and urged the British government to stop spending public money on encouraging the Oriental education and learning system.
