Detailed Solution

Johann Gottfried claimed that true German culture was to be discovered among the common people. Romanticism came as a cultural movement that helped to create and develop nationalist feelings and sentiments. The Romantic artists and poets criticised the glorification of reason and science and instead focused on emotions, feelings, and intuition. As the German philosopher Johann Gottfried Herder (1744–1833) claimed, common people described the true cultural beliefs and traditions of Germany. "Das Volk" is a German word that means the "common people" of society. People's spirits and feelings were popularised through romanticism through folk songs, folk poetry, and folk dances. This was not only to bring back the past and common culture of Germans, but also to recover the ancient national spirit in order to carry and bring the nation's modern sentiments.
