Amnesty International collected information about the prisoners in Guantanamo Bay. It is a non - government organisation which looks into matters of human rights breaches. Around 600 prisoners were secretly picked up from around the world by the US forces after the 9/11 terrorist attack. The US forces said that these people were linked to the attack, and therefore, they were put in prison in Guantanamo Bay, an area near Cuba controlled by the American Navy. No one could approach these prisoners, and there was no trial before any magistrate in the US. Amnesty International, an international human rights organisation, collected information on the condition of the prisoners and reported that the prisoners were tortured. Despite being declared not guilty, the prisoners weren't released. This shows that there was a clear violation of human rights.
