Raikas combined cultivation with pastoralism.
The Raikas were a religious group that resided in Rajasthan's deserts. Because the deserts got little or no rain, farming was not a reliable source of income. As a result, they had to combine farming and pastoralism. The Raikas of western Rajasthan, who lived in Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner (which were very dry compared to the rest of Rajasthan), stayed in their home villages during the monsoons because pastures were available. When the dry season arrived, they travelled to different locations in search of pastures and water, returning home when the rainy season came.
These nations, along with delegates from the European powers, worked up a settlement at a conference in Vienna in 1815, which became known as the Vienna Congress. This conference was organised following the collective defeat of Napoleon by several European powers. The Vienna Congress was hosted by the Austrian Chancellor, the Duke of Metternich. Napoleon's fall was a significant event in European history because, following Napoleon's capture and defeat, Europe was transformed. The fundamental goal of the Vienna Congress was to maintain and restore Europe's lost peace. In addition, this assembly downsized the powers of the nations that took part in this event to avert future conflict.
