Ravikirti uses interesting word plays in his poem. Ravikriti was the court poet of Pulakeshin II who composed the Prashasti of Chalukyas king Pulakesin II. Pulakeshin II was the best-known ruler of the Chalukyas dynasty. The Pulakeshin stopped Harsha’s expedition toward the Deccan. The poet describes this incident in his poem.
