The largest and most ornate Hindu temple in the Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, Indian mediaeval temple complex is the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple, which translates to "Great God of the Cave." The Khajuraho Group of Monuments is famous for its stunning sculptures and intricate carvings that depict many facets of life. Kandariya Mahadev Temple is the biggest, tallest, and most complex of the extant Khajuraho temples. The most extensive and impressive temple in Khajuraho is the Kandariya Mahadeva, which is dedicated to Siva. King Vidyadhara most likely constructed it somewhere between the years 1017 and 1029.
