Detailed Solution

A judge decides whether an accused person is guilty or not. Like an umpire in a sporting event, the judge presides over the trial impartially and in front of the jury. Various measures must be followed to prove the guilt of an accused person. The judge questions each witness and evaluates any other evidence submitted by the prosecution and defence. After the police submit a report, the person who appears to have broken the law is detained. Following the arrest, a legal tribunal must rule on whether the person is guilty or not. The court uses the law and the information offered to assess whether the accused individual is guilty or innocent. If the accused is found guilty, the judge will sentence them. Depending on the legislation, he may imprison the individual, penalise him, or both.
