Detailed Solution

Bal Gangadhar Tilak edited the Marathi newspaper Kesari which became a critic of British rule. It rose to prominence as one of the most vocal critics of British authority. "Freedom is my birthright, and I shall have it," Tilak proclaimed. He popularised the Ganesh Chaturthi festival and the birth anniversary of Shivaji to instil historical pride among Indians. In addition to emphasising the value of independence and constructive work, Tilak criticised the Moderates for their "politics of prayers". He stated that people should fight for swaraj/self-rule and rely on their strength rather than the "good" intentions of the government.
