Detailed Solution

Joseph Stalin entered into a non-aggression agreement with Hitler.
The announcement that Hitler's Germany and Stalin's Russia had reached a non-aggression agreement, pledging not to support one another's enemies or participate in hostile activities against one another, shocked the world in 1939. Despite their cooperation during the war, the Soviet Union, the United States, and Great Britain found their relations fast deteriorating as the conflict came to an end and the leaders debated what to do with Germany. Two conferences were held in 1945, one before the war's formal conclusion and the other after. On September 17, 1939, the Soviet Union seized its first areas in eastern Poland in accordance with the stipulations of the Non-Aggression Pact signed with Nazi Germany.
