Detailed Solution

Raja Rammohan Roy  founded brahmo samaj. During the 19th century, social, political, economical, and religious issues were debated among the people. This discussion reached a wider community. These debates were often done by the Indian reformers and some Reform groups. Raja Rammohan Roy was one such reformer. He is the founder of a reform association named  Brahmo sabha in Calcutta. Later the name was converted into Brahmo Samaj. It was formed in 1830. Brahmo Samaj prohibited all types of idolatry and sacrifice. Its members believed in the Upanishads. They even forbade their members from criticising other religious practices. Brahmo Samaj was made based on the ideas of Hinduism and Christianity considering both the positive and negative sides of it.
