The Bolsheviks, also known as the Bolshevists in English, were a far-left, revolutionary Marxist faction founded by Vladimir Lenin that broke away from the Mensheviks at the Second Party Congress of the Marxist Russian Social Democratic Labour Party, a revolutionary socialist political party founded in 1898. An Indian political party in India is known as the Bolshevik Party of India (abbreviated as BPI). The party was established in 1939. The party played a specific role in West Bengal's trade union movement and briefly served in the state administration in 1969. A revolutionary group dedicated to Karl Marx's theories, the Bolsheviks. They held the view that the working classes would eventually free themselves from the economic and political dominance of the ruling classes.
