The famous warrior and astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II founded the city and gave it its name. At the age of two, with the passing of his father, Maharaja Bishan Singh, he ascended to the throne. The top academics and instructors in the fields of art, science, philosophy, and military strategy instructed Jai Singh. His academic knowledge and natural intelligence went hand in hand. Jai Singh eventually took over the throne and ruled over Jaipur.
