Ali brothers founded the Khilafat Committee.
The main objective of the Khilafat movement was to force the British government to modify its perspective toward Turkey and restore the Khalifa to its former position. Turkey was defeated in the first war. The Indian Muslims were upset over the British attitude against Turkey and launched the Khilafat Movement with Congress. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, M.A. Ansari, Saifuddin Kitchlew and the Ali brothers were the distinguished leaders of the movement. In November 1919, a joint conference of the Hindus and Muslims commanded the office of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was notably inquisitive about transferring the Hindus and Muslims to realise the country’s independence. Therefore, he recommended to the Khilafat Committee that it adopt a programme of nonviolent non-cooperation to protest the Government’s behaviour.
