General Dyer gave the order to fire innocent people in Jallianwala Bagh. The Amritsar Massacre, popularly known as the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, happened on April 13, 1919. The people had gathered there to protest the detention of two national leaders. General Dyer gave the order to seal the garden's only gate and begin fire when he learned of the gathering assembled at the Jallianwala Bagh without giving any prior notice. The brutal and horrifying scene resulted in 100 deaths and injuries.
