Detailed Solution

James Watt improved the steam engine produced by Thomas Newcomen.
Thomas Newcomen conceptualised a design for a modern steam motor in the middle of the eighteenth century. It was designed to syphon water out of mines and was given the moniker "air steam motor" by the inventor. Scottish architect James Watt worked on the Newcomen steam engine throughout the 1760s. James Watt created a steam motor that would unquestionably be more productive than any other model devised up to this time by adding a water condenser to make it more effective. Many businesses would also use his invention, including paper and cotton mills, water and channel systems, ironworks, etc.
