Detailed Solution

British colonialists introduced the Rule of law in India.
The Rule of law is the essence of a democratic country. It states that no one is above the law and that the law treats everyone equally, irrespective of their caste, gender, sex, religion, faith, belief, culture, etc. Historians have opposing ideas as to who brought about the Rule of law in India. Some historians believe that British colonialists introduced the Rule of law in India. But others dispute this on several grounds. First, the law made by British colonialists was always arbitrary for Indians, and second, the Indian Nationalists played a significant role in bringing the Rule of law to India.
