Detailed Solution

Ahmad Shah Abdali invaded India five times. As the seventeenth century came to a close, the Mughal Empire was at the height of its dominance and facing several difficulties. These were the outcomes of several factors. Under Aurangzeb's successors, the imperial administration's effectiveness deteriorated. While Delhi was experiencing a political and economic crisis in 1739, Iran's ruler Nadir Shah stormed and pillaged the city, robbing it of enormous quantities of money. In reaction to this invasion, the Afghan ruler, Ahmad Shah Abdali, undertook several pillaging operations. Between 1748 and 1761, he invaded north India five times. This put additional pressure on the Mughal government at the time.
