Johann Gutenberg developed the first known printing press. He had grown up on an agricultural estate, and his father was a merchant. Since his childhood, he had seen wine and olive presses. Along with this, he also learned the art of polishing stones on the farmland. He became a master goldsmith and acquired the expertise to create lead moulds for making trinkets. Being observant by nature, he used the knowledge that he had gained on the agricultural estate to drive his innovation. He developed the printing press based on the model provided by the knowledge of the olive press.
