Detailed Solution

Gopala is given credit for the establishment of the Pala dynasty. The Palas ruled over east India during the medieval period. According to historical sources, Gopala established this dynasty in AD 750. The nobles chose him to bring order to the region. He was a devout Buddhist who built a monastery in Odantapuri, Bihar. Devapala was another powerful Pala ruler who came to power in AD 810. During his reign, the Palas expanded their control over Nepal, parts of Orissa, and Assam.
