Detailed Solution

Ada Lovelace is often called the “mother of computers” for her work in the 1840s on the early mechanical computer and the first published algorithm intended for machine processing.

  • Ada Lovelace (1815-1852) worked with Charles Babbage on his Analytical Engine. She conceptualized that the machine could go beyond pure calculation and could be programmed. She wrote notes that included what is considered the first computer algorithm.
  • Hence she is popularly regarded as the first computer programmer and “mother of computing”.
