Who is Moothon in Lokah?

In the Malayalam film “Moothon” (The Elder One), directed by Geetu Mohandas, Moothon refers to the elder brother of the main character, Mulla, a young child from Lakshadweep who travels to Mumbai searching for him. The word Moothon literally means “elder” or “older sibling” in Malayalam.

The story follows Mulla’s dangerous journey from the serene islands to the chaotic underworld of Mumbai, where Moothon — whose real name is Akhbar — now lives as a hardened gangster. Unknown to Mulla, Akhbar had once fled his home due to personal trauma and social rejection.
