The government is responsible for making worker safety laws in India. The Indian government must make safety laws to protect workers working in factories, mines, or in hazardous conditions. There are many safety laws at present. The Factory Act of 1948 states that the owner or the employer of the industrial establishment has the responsibility to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for the workers when they are at work in the industry or factory. The Indian Constitution states some factory laws, like the law making it mandatory for the employer to develop proper safety equipment at the workplace like alarms, danger detection machines in case of any harmful leakage, or emergency exit. Also, an environmental law states that factories are not supposed to pollute air and water by releasing harmful and toxic gasses and chemicals in them.
