Detailed Solution

Ganga Kishore Bhattacharya was the Bengal Gazette's founder, the first press established in 1818 on Chor Bagan Street. He published the first regional newspaper from his press, "Bengal Gazette", in May 1818. The resemblance in the names of the two publications suggests that James Augustus Hickey's "Bengal Gazette" served as inspiration for him. However, Ganga Kishore cannot be held solely responsible for the newspaper's publication. Harachandra Roy, a Raja Rammohun Roy's Atmiya Sabha member, joined him in this effort.
