Who is the pioneer of Kerala School of Mathematics?

The Kerala School of Mathematics was pioneered by Mādhava of Sangamagrama, a 14th-century Indian mathematician and astronomer. He is considered one of the greatest pre-modern mathematicians in the world. Madhava and his successors, including Parameshvara, Nilakantha Somayaji, and Jyesthadeva, formed the Kerala School that flourished between the 14th and 16th centuries.

Madhava’s groundbreaking work laid the foundation for what is now known as calculus, long before Newton and Leibniz. He discovered infinite series for trigonometric functions like sine, cosine, and arctangent—concepts that form the basis of modern mathematical analysis.
