Detailed Solution

In the Mahabharata, Shakuni, the cunning prince of Gandhara and the mastermind behind the dice game that ruined the Pandavas, was killed by Sahadeva, the youngest of the Pandava brothers.

During the final days of the Kurukshetra war, after many major warriors had fallen, Sahadeva sought out Shakuni to fulfill his vow of revenge for the humiliation caused to Draupadi. Shakuni, known for his deceit and manipulation, tried to escape, but Sahadeva confronted him in battle.

A fierce fight ensued, and Sahadeva overpowered Shakuni, killing him with his sword and ending the long chain of deceit that had begun with the game of dice.

Shakuni’s death symbolized the end of treachery and the moral justice that the Pandavas had long awaited. Although Shakuni was not the strongest warrior, his strategies caused immense suffering, making his defeat by Sahadeva a moment of poetic justice in the epic’s final war sequence.
