Detailed Solution

Muhammad Ali and Shaukat Ali launched the Khilafat Movement. The Khilafat movement(1919-1924) was created by Muslims from British India and launched by Mohammad Ali and Shaukat Ali. The Khilafat movement arose in response to the Treaty of Sevres, which imposed penalties on the Caliph and the Ottoman Empire in the aftermath of World War I. The Khilafat movement, also known as the Indian Muslim movement, was founded by India's Muslim community. Gandhi saw this as an opportunity to unite Muslim citizens in a single national movement. At the Congress Session in Calcutta in September 1920, he encouraged other leaders to establish a Non-Cooperation Movement in support of the Khilafat Movement.
